SUMMARY

Salvaged trees offer an extraordinary resource for creating one-of-a-kind furniture that brings the natural character of wood into everyday spaces. We work primarily with distinctive slabs of Claro walnut, Bastogne walnut, and grafted walnut, prized for their rich color and dramatic figure. We also work with other salvaged domestic woods, including elm, ash, oak, sycamore, redwood, and cedar, as materials become available. Each slab brings its own character to the finished piece.

Working with trusted suppliers, we source responsibly salvaged wood and carefully consider each slab’s origin, drying process, grain, and natural features. With more than 500 slab projects completed, we guide clients through material selection and design, balancing the character of the wood with practical considerations such as proportions, seating, and the surrounding space. From bold live-edge tables to more tailored designs with straight-cut edges and geometric bases, each project is shaped by the material and its intended use.

SHIPPING / DELIVERY

Our furniture ships nationwide. Because every piece is unique, transit costs vary by destination and service level. Please contact us with your zip code for a custom carrier quote. Personal delivery is also available for select California and Northern Nevada orders.

Building slab furniture is an extensive process and there are many factors to consider. We cover everything with our clients from how the wood is sourced and sustainably salvaged, to the required drying process, to the criteria for picking out a slab, to the nature of the raw material, to the leveling process, to explaining and expanding on the occurrence of natural wood ‘movement’, and how to best maintain and upkeep the slab once finished.
