DESIGN DESCRIPTION
Crafted from a salvaged solid walnut slab, this table showcases the natural beauty and character of the wood. The tabletop “floats” above a wide-set steel base, elevated by custom 1/4” risers that create a subtle shadow line and give the piece a light, modern presence.
A large natural inclusion in the slab allowed for a substantial epoxy pour, preserving the organic form of the wood while creating a smooth, flat surface. One end of the table features the preserved crotch of the tree, where feathered grain and iridescent figure radiate through the walnut, making this section especially striking.
The square design provides comfortable seating for 6, with plenty of space for everyday dining. The parsons-style legs extend to the corners of the table, maximizing stability while leaving approximately 50” of seating space along the sides and about 38” at the ends. When needed, the table can accommodate up to 8 guests depending on chair size, though seating will be slightly more compact.
This table was built as a prototype for our website and has never been used, remaining in brand new condition. As a prototype piece, it does have a few minor imperfections, which are reflected in the discounted price (details listed below).
