DESIGN DESCRIPTION
Our ‘Hudson’ dining table design is defined by the relationship between its wood top and steel base. A white oak top with a clean, beveled profile gives the substantial surface a lighter, more refined edge. Beneath it, the steel frame is pulled inward at each corner, creating the Hudson’s distinctive notched-in post legs. The legs are flush with the top, creating a particularly seamless transition between the two materials and giving the table its architectural character.
The notched-in frame creates a simple, integrated connection between the wood and steel, allowing the structure itself to become part of the table’s visual character. The “Blackout” version pairs black-stained plain-sawn white oak with a satin black powder-coated steel frame. The black finish accentuates the open-pore grain structure of the oak, rather than letting it recede into the natural coloring and variation of the wood.

A NOTE ABOUT THIS PIECE
The table shown in the images is completely brand new. It has a minor, non-structural end crack in the solid oak top. Small cracks can occur naturally in solid oak, and in this case the application of the black dye has accentuated a small crack within the wood. The crack does not affect the structural integrity or function of the table. For us, this is also part of the character that comes with working with real, solid wood. The black finish makes the natural grain structure particularly visible, including the small variations and imperfections that make each piece unique.
We’ve priced this piece with an additional discount to reflect this imperfection. The table is otherwise fully functional and meets our standards for construction and design.
