The mounting kit includes our suggested attachment method to secure the legs to the tabletop, providing the hardware and tools we use when we mount our bases to tabletops. It's a fairly particular process, and other woodworkers/furniture makers have different methods (such as wood screws, etc). Our method involves routing oversized channels into the underside of the tabletop, then inserting brass threaded inserts into the wood where the legs attach. We like this method because it's very secure and allows the legs to be removed and reattached infinitely (whereas wood screws do not allow for that). Our mounting suggestions are outlined below, and photos 1 & 2 in the listing example show the hardware and an example of the leg channels.

(4) 3/8-16 x 3/4" grade 8 Hex Flange Bolts
(4) 3/8-16 x 1-1/2" grade 8 Hex Flange Bolts
(8) 3/8" Brass Inserts
(1) Insert Drive Tool
